Preparation for the Katha
Choose a Suitable Day and Time: Consult a priest or select an auspicious day.
Puja Items Needed:
- Lord Vishnu’s idol or picture.
- Kalash (sacred pot), coconut, mango leaves.
- Puja thali with turmeric, kumkum, sandalwood paste, rice, flowers, and fruits.
- Five varieties of dry fruits and bananas.
- Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, honey, sugar, curd, and ghee).
- Prasad: Typically sooji halwa or sweetened rice.
Set up the Puja Area: Clean the area, spread a cloth, and place the idol of Lord Satyanarayan. Arrange the kalash and puja items.
